Learning to Forgive

Susanne Geske made international headlines the morning after her husband was tied up and tortured to death by six Muslim men simply because he was a Christian. After leaving the police station, she released a statement, "I forgive the murderers of my husband the way Christ forgave his murderers, 'Father forgive them, they know not what they do.'" After her statement, thousands of calls and letters poured into the Turkish TV station asking for more information on how to convert from Islam to Christianity.

Christians from all walks of life need a clear answer to this question because their assurance, peace, and joy depend on it. 7 Reasons You Should Pray

There are many reasons why Christians often struggle to pray. Perhaps it is because prayer is hard work, or we fail to believe what the Bible says about prayer. It could be the result of a host of other reasons: biblical illiteracy, busyness, a lack of discipline, a lust for ease, worldliness, carnality, and the list goes on. Although there are many reasons why we find it challenging to pray, we must understand that prayerlessness for the Christian is an oxymoron. The fact of the matter is that Christians pray.

Theology Terms Explained: “Christology”

Understanding the doctrine of Christology is vital because if you get Christology wrong, you get Jesus wrong, and if you get Jesus wrong, you cannot be saved (John 14:6). Theology Terms Explained: “Glorification”

Glorification is vital for the Christian to understand because this concept is tied to our hope for the future. Glorification is the final state for believers, in that we are no longer sinful, no longer sick, no longer in our human form, and no longer subject to the attacks of the evil one. Glorification is a promise from God that if we believe in His Son, Jesus Christ, we will have experienced justification, salvation, sanctification, and then glorification. This is the realization of every blessing and treasure that Christ has laid up for us in heaven (1 Peter 1:3-5).

A Case for “Digital Missions”

For years now in conservative circles, viral media is viewed as this sort of “wild child.” Like a Reformed church whose pastor has a kid with full sleeve tattoos and hipster hair, creative innovation and high effort on digital missions is tolerated with eye-rolling disdain. Whether subconscious or intentional, far too many people think of digital creativity as nothing more than the methods of false teachers. Some tend to view digital efforts as tolerable so long as they are filled with truth, but not enough of us have embraced digital efforts as essential. Allow me to propose an additional phrase for your vocabulary, your missions strategy, and your budget: digital missions. I would define this as: utilizing digital mediums to creatively and innovatively reach the lost, equip the saints, and support missionaries with gospel truth and sound doctrine.
